The Engineering CAD 12 course focus is on application of the engineering design process using 3D parametric modeling designs.  Advanced sketching, form, fasteners, gears, cams, reverse engineering, complex multi-part assemblies, assembly motion mechanics, BOM parts lists, forces, stress analysis, GD&T applications, technical writing, reflection and presentation skills.  Introduction to parametric design.  Top down assemblies.  Intermediate technical sketching techniques, auxiliary views, section views, pictorial views, intermediate patterning techniques and basic assemblies.  Basic Rendering.  Conventional GD&T fit and tolerance application.  Preparation for National assessment.  Final project is a uniquely engineered product design with 3D model, assembly, stress analysis, written technical research based report, and presentation with prototype.  Advanced 3D printing and rapid prototyping.

Homework:

There is very little if any "homework" in my classes. The students are given the opportunity to have access to the appropriate hardware, software and are given enough class time to complete most of their "class work" here in my classroom at Hutch Tech.
