Grading Policy
Grading: 80% is labs; 20% is assignments. Labs are assigned different point values depending on how long they take to complete. For example, a review of measurement may total 10 points while a titration lab that takes 3 lab periods to complete may total 30-40 points. You must receive at least a 70% on a lab for it to count toward your 1200 lab minutes. Your lab grade will comprise 15% of your Chemistry Class grade.

Homework Policy
There is no homework for Chemistry Laboratory.

Test Policy
There are no tests in Chemistry Laboratory.

Quiz Policy
Quizzes will be considered part of a lab.

Projects
Every lab is a mini-project.

EXPECTATIONS:
1. Preparation for Class: Students are required to arrive on time and be prepared for class both mentally and physically (with appropriate materials). Labs will be synchronized to the same content students are learning in their chemistry class.
2. Attendance: On synchronous days, attendance will be based on logging into and participating in the Teams meeting. On asynchronous days, you will be marked present if you log into the Chem Lab course in Schoology and submit the assignment.
3. Schoology Assignments: Students will submit their labs and assignments via Schoology. These labs must be maintained to document the 1200 minutes of lab work required for admittance to the Regents Chemistry Exam in June.
4. Safety: Students are expected to work safely at all times. Any student who violates their safety contract will be expelled from the lab.
5. Student Support: The Schoology Resource link will provide access to tutorials and other resources for additional practice of skills. If a student requires one-on-one support, extra help will be provided during asynchronous class time.
6. Student Engagement: In order to have the best overall experience, students will be required to actively engage in our learning community by respecting our classroom environment, preparing to learn, positively interacting with peers, actively engaging and taking initiative in the learning process, as well as reflecting on your learning. We will optimize our year-long journey and offer a variety of ways to engage with learning.
