Homework Policy
Every evening: organize every notebook/binder you have, do your hw, read!!!

HOMEWORK:
I give homework usually 4x a week - sometimes 5x. If homework is given on Friday then students technically have 2 1/2 days to get it done - not just 1/2 day as when it is given Mon - Thurs!
Each homework assignment receives a grade of 2, 1 or 0:

2 - homework is done completely, all work is shown, problems are done in an organized way.

1 - homework is half completed (reasonably), work is shown for the half of problems done,
problems are done in an organized way.

0 - homework is not done, or answers are presented on the page but no work is shown

I AM ALL ABOUT THREE THINGS!!! - READING/FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS, SHOWING WORK AND BEING ORGANIZED!!!
SO MANY TESTS YOU WILL TAKE IN ANY AND ALL SUBJECTS IN BOTH HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE ARE NOT CORRECTED BY A COMPUTER, INSTEAD ARE CORRECTED BY A PERSON - WHICH MEANS CORRECTIONS MADE ARE VERY SUBJECTIVE - GIVE NO ONE REASON TO TAKE POINTS OFF OF ANY OF YOUR WORK!!!

Test Policy
Generally, tests will be given at the end of each unit. Tests will run all period long, they will obviously be longer than quizzes. Tests will have 15 to 20 questions on them, depending on how much work is required to be shown per each question.

Each question will be worth anywhere from 3 tho 5 points per question.

Remember that tests and quizzes hold the same weight - students need to study for both!

Quiz Policy
We will take a quiz each week - As of the start of this school year, in all 5 classes we did a survey and testing on Thursday's was the consensus.

Quizzes will have between 5 and 10 questions.

Each question will be worth between 1 and 3 points.

Work will always be required to be shown on questions.

Quizzes hold the same weight as tests. A quiz is just a shorter test! Students need to study for both!

Projects
Here I have chosen to list requirements for binders.

Complete binder checks will take place at least 1x per month.

A binder "Glance" will also take place at least 1x per month.

The idea of checking binders is simple: if your binder is organized, then you as a student are more organized. The more organized we are the more productive we are.

Each student is expected to have a 1-inch three ring binder - NOT A FOLDER ,NOT A 5 SUBJECT SPIRAL NOTEBOOK!!!

The binder should have 5 subject divider tabs. The following labels need to be used to on the tabs:
vocabulary
notes
practice section
homework
tests/quizzes/regents

Please do not use a binder for a variety of subjects. You have 4 minutes between classes - you can go and get the binder you need for each class, or simply carry several with you.

Binders can be purchased at any stores, dollar general type stores sell them for $1 or $2, office supply stores sell them for about $3 to $8 dollars. I admit that I often go for the cheaper ones only to find that the cheaper ones break quite easily. Remember also that the book store sells binders too.
If supplies are a problem, please see me in private - we can always work something out to be sure you are well prepared to learn!!!
